When planning a trip to visit properties in France, you’ll need to take the France’s public holidays into account. France officially observes 11 public holidays.

  • Monday, January 1, 2018  New Year’s Day
  • Monday, April 2, 2018  Easter Monday
  • Tuesday, May 1, 2018  Labor Day
  • Tuesday, May 8, 2018  WWII Victory Day
  • Thursday, May 10, 2018  Ascension Day
  • Monday, May 21, 2018  Whit Monday
  • Saturday, July 14, 2018  Bastille Day
  • Wednesday, August 15, 2018  Assumption of Mary
  • Thursday, November 1, 2018  All Saints’ Day
  • Sunday, November 11, 2018 → Armistice Day
  • Tuesday, December 25, 2018  Christmas Day

If an official public holiday falls on a Thursday or a Tuesday, many businesses allow employees to take Friday or Monday as a “bridge day”, allowing for an extended four-day weekend.
